Common Quality Requirements

The IKT and IPT comprise of either a single cross-roller split-thin section, or two four-point contact ball bearings, enabling them to withstand radial, axial, and movement loads without issues. Our range of slewing bearings are available internally, externally, or ungeared to suit your application.

Available in standard steel, stainless steel, and 7075-T6 aluminium, and with various gearing arrangements, the IKT and IPT housings can be adjusted to suit your requirements. UNASIS thin-section insert bearings are typically made from 420 stainless steel to provide added corrosion-resistance.

Our aluminium slewing rings are commonly anodised on all surfaces except for gear teeth when requested. We also offer dry-film lubrications, a range of specialist greases, and painting services available on request. Our bearing engineers will be able to advise you on the needs of your specific application.

As well as having an extensive range of standard slewing rings, most of our solutions are custom-designed to meet specific application criteria. With fill application engineering support, FEA validation, lifetime testing with our proprietary bearing software, and custom design including special features such as locations for encoders, contact our bearing engineers today.

We have a variety of in-house capabilities to reliably test and validate multiple performance aspects of our lightweight slewing rings, including torque and runout.

We are able to both achieve submicron runout tolerances in our bearings, but also provide the critical documentation needed to support this. Torque is another critical performance indicator for all mechanical systems and is something that we can precisely adjust in all our custom slewing rings for both starting and running. The gigs and fixtures used to validate this torque can be modified with ball selection or shims, and all conformance documentation can be provided for validation.

We are highly experienced in creating and delivering solutions to the defence industry, where quality control is of paramount performance. UNASIS provides comprehensive and exhaustive documentation for all bearings, including full traceability of every material process, first-article inspection reports on custom products.

Double Ball Bearing

Roller Bearing

Advantages

High-Capacity Design

This bearing has been designed to withstand large forces created during shock loading conditions and achieve high static-load ratings whilst minimising weight.

Flanged Design

Significant weight savings are gained with custom bearing geometrics and the application of lightweight materials.

Double Row Design

Maximise capacity in a given envelope by using a wide range of internal bearing types and sizes.

Custom Gear Design

Incorporate a wide range of transmission types into the bearing, including:

Spur gears, helical gears, belt profiles, and chain drive.

Reduced Clearance Design

Angular contact bearings and shim use provides the bearing with excellent clearance control. This allows us to easily tailor the frictional torque and free play in the bearing to customer requirements.

CUSTOM LIGHTWEIGHT SLEWING RINGS

A custom designed slewing ring which achieves high static load ratings whilst minimising weight. The bearing has been designed to withstand large forces created during shock loading conditions.

Custom bearing geometries and the utilisation of lightweight materials allow for significant weight savings within an application.

The ability to use a ride range of internal bearing types and sizes allows capacity to be maximised in a given envelope.

A wide range of transmission types can be incorporated into the bearing including and not limited to:

Spur gears, helical gears, belt profiles and chain drive.

The use of angular contact bearings and shims allows excellent clearance control for the bearing. This allows the frictional torque and free play in the bearing to be easily tailored to customer’s needs.
