The Process

The UNASIS segment staking tool is used with a sharp-edge housing and chamfered bearing. This particular tool is utilised with a mechanical/arbour, hydraulic, or pneumatic press. The tool slowly places the ductile housing material onto the bearing and locks it into place. The design of the UNASIS Ball Roller Swaging Tool is important as too little or too much material can have unfavourable effects. It is not possible to reuse the housing unless the hole reamed and a larger bearing is utilised. However, this particular method is not a common practice.
